About the event

The Spring Sting TEC is BACK!  This rugged, technical, and beautiful race has been a staple of Central Oregon racers for nearly ten years.  No paddling - so don’t worry about getting cold!  Besides, we promise you’ll have plenty of awesome terrain to run and bike on!  One of the most stunning “short” races in the world - the terrain you’ll be playing on is 100% spectacular ALL the time. Suitable for all levels with basic MTB and off-trail trekking skills.  Ropes are optional.

Disciplines with difficulty ratings:

MTB: 5/10

Trek: 7/10

Paddle: NA

Navigation: 4/10

Endurance: 5/10

Mandatory Gear: Standard,  No paddle gear, ropes or headlamps required.

Estimated time for winners: 4.5 hours

Course open: 8 hours

Team Formats: 1,2,3,4 person.  3 or 4 person co-ed is premiere category for USARA rankings

Prizes: Sponsor gear

Entry Fee: $ 70 pp* (includes maps, racer swag, and an AMAZING course!)

Note, we will be ending at the Faith Hope and Charity Winery - bring some $$ for wood fired pizza and wine!

Bend Sustainability Fund, a Visit Bend Project, invests in projects that create sustainable experiences in Bend’s community.

At Visit Bend, sustainability is based on three pillars: economic, environmental, and social. Our community is dependent on all three, and it is important to find a balance between them. To have a thriving, sustainable community for residents and visitors alike, it is important that we take into consideration all three pillars.

Since the inception of the Bend Sustainability Fund in 2021, $2,290,000 has been awarded to 17 projects.
